A Beautiful Landing
A Northern Gannet, Morus bassanus, prepares to land on the rocky cliff ledge at RSPB Troup Head Nature Reserve high above the North Sea. I had seen my first gannet off the coast of North America only a month before. Already on my way to Scotland, I was aware that there were a few colonies. RSPB Troupe Head was close to where I was so I decided to take a few days to go and see the beautiful Northern Gannets.
